GSC TRANSLATIONS & MTPE

My name is Gaetano Silvestri Campagnano. I am an Italian professional translator and linguistic reviewer, based in Aversa, near Naples. Aversa has been my town ever since childhood, but my roots are divided between Naples, my father’s hometown, and Sardinia, my mother’s birthplace, in particular Bultei, a tiny village in the heart of the island, where I was also born. Growing up in a household where Italian, Sardinian and Neapolitan coexisted kindled my interest for languages and multicultural communication. For this reason, I studied English, French and Spanish and earned a linguistic and literary MA degree in the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, the oldest and most prestigious Italian university for foreign languages and literatures.
Shortly afterwards, I realized that translation was my true vocation, chiefly because I could not imagine doing anything else with the same passion and enthusiasm. I consider translation a highly refined form of art, whether the text involved is a novel, a medical treatise or a technical manual. In particular, I think that the true strength of translation lies in its variety, which makes it always new and interesting, never repetitive or monotonous.
Over the past 30+ years, I have developed solid experience in medical, technical and scientific translation, as well as in software localization. This background comes from long-standing cooperation with agencies and direct clients across multiple countries and industries. For more than 13 years, I also collaborated with a global leader in the medical device industry, handling a wide range of technical, clinical and regulatory content.
Both in translation and in revision tasks, I always strive to deliver the highest quality, accuracy and reliability of multilingual communication, particularly in contexts where precision is essential. I do not simply translate or revise texts: I make sure they are linguistically flawless, terminologically consistent and safe for publication. My professional activity also increasingly includes MTPE (Machine Translation Post-Editing), in response to the evolving needs of the language industry. Where automated tools fall short, I step in to ensure the utmost precision.
